Looking for information or recommondations for a weather station for our department's mobile command post. I Have looked at the Vantage Pro 2, the stations from Columbia Weather at www.columbiaweather.com, which nice rack mountable displays and also WeatherHawk.. Just looking for any suggestions on what may make a good station for this setup.

Thanks..

We recently purchased the Davis wireless VP2 for our county's mobile command post. Have not installed it yet, but we plan on looking into a collapsable tripod to mount the sensor pack, which will allow us to set it up in an area free from obstructions to wind speed and direction. The only obstacle at this point is a safe and secure place to stow the sensor pack to prevent damage during transit and storage.

We also hope to set up some form of wireless internet connection so we can run Stormlab and Interwarn in the field, but this is rather cost prohibitive at this point.

Thanks for the reply. I was wanting to try and mount the weather station on the vehicle. I email Davis directly and they replied that the weather station could be mounted on the vehicle if it was somewhat protected during transport. I am looking at several options. One would be to mount it on an adjustable pole, mounted to the side or back of the vehicle. This would allow for easy "N" setup. The pole's name brand is "kwik raze". Our fire dept. uses them for lighting. Thanks for you ideas.
