Good afternoon.
As a registered user of StormLab I would like to know what procedures there are to become elegible to post your program’s trial version and its information as an alternate server location using my paid server service at www.150m.com where my website is hosted at to allow users to download it from there should your server ever be down.
I would be willing to do so without being compensated in any way.
Any other necessary changes can be made to insure integrity to your business and to those who created the program.
I can upload the authorized versions to the server from here and give a link both to Interwarn’s home site and to the alternate location if desired. The area to which the program can be stored can be password protected if necessary.
Regards,

Brian,
While I appreciate your offer, this is well beyond something I can comment on. I have passed this message onto Evan and would recommend emailing him to discuss it.
I'm not sure how it's going to work because if our server is down to download the software, then the rest of the website would be down as well. How would people even know to look for your site?
I guess I'm just curious more than anything.

As an honest reply to this message.
My website at www.oklahomathunder.net is usually not down. So far I've not had any problems with the setup of the service through 150m.com in the past few months I've used the service and have been very impressed with the services it provides.
The idea is only just in case he does need services for download of his software on another server and it's nothing more than just an offer. My website is known to members of Yahoo, family and friends, and other people on the web at the moment -- and there is no need to advertise my site to anyone. It's just that I noted that with so many weather instances causing disruption to servers around the country that perhaps more than one group of servers could be offered by members to assist.
Not looking for anything extra - just extending the hand of aid just in case it's ever needed.
I'll be glad to write out a proposal and let Evan know.
Thanks. :)
Brian

Thanks for the offer and clarification, and even more thanks for all the great suggestions you've passed along to enhance the software.

You are quite welcome.
If I can be of any assistance please let me know. But the good thing is that you haven’t needed any – you’ve done well even with the most severe Hurricane season we’ve had in history and the most active Fall storm season we’ve had in a while.
There does need to be a plan of networking involving everyone. One of the things that I suggest is to have at least one or two remote backup servers – yes I know there are backup servers in place but they need to be in DISTANT REMOTE PLACES away from one another so that if we do have a major disaster in one state, we can shift to another as a backup. Probably the best way is by reigned or area. Example, one in the Midwest, one in the West, one in the Central Plains, etc. Three is usually enough but n the best laid plans – and I have seen one company that has one, one in every area works. I just talked to someone who has one backup server structure setup in all 50 states – but that’s a little far fetched.
Have a great thanksgiving and a wonderful Christmas season.
I’ve changed my signature – hopefully that works. Didn’t say I was perfect – and I don’t expect anyone else to be either.
