Does Storm Lab have a Winter Weather display capability (display snow on the radar as white, freezing rain/sleet as pink, etc)? So far all I'm seeing is the standard green for all precipitation types.

Anthony,

This was brought up several years ago (http://www.interwarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1777). What you're seeing is the true radar data. The addition of snow as white, freezing rain/sleet as pink, etc. on a radar image is a rough approximation of what the precipitation type might be. You'd need weather balloons launched more than twice a day and closer than about 150 miles apart to really get a good vertical temperature profile which would tell you for certain what the precip type is.

What you can do is select the National or Regional Composites that display radar data from Wunderground which show approximate areas of snow/mix/rain. The other option is that if you know it's snowing, you could edit your legend's color table to have more white/blue coloring, or you could download a winter color table from stormlabstuff.com (http://www.stormlabstuff.com/index.php?categoryid=2&p13_sectionid=12&p13_fileid=278) :)

Well, that older thread explains everything. Thanks for pointing that out!
